Review :
One of the best thriller.
A girl is killed in a forest of a small swiss people; the investigation starts very soon, but the suspicions fall on the old street vendor who found the body. Only the commissioner "Matei" (Heinz Rühmann), doubts about his guilt, but just withdraw and leave the case in the hands of a colleague. Meanwhile, the old man, not resisting the situation, suicide in his cell. Already in the airport commissioner repairs in some details counted by the children of school and decides investigate by your account...
Surprises, in any case, the insignificant impact it has had a film as "Es geschah am hellichten Tag" along its more than half a century of existence. And it is surprising that is known so little of a film that, with all the meritocracy we can put the level of films as "El Verdugo", "Calle Mayor" or "La Caza".
"Es geschah am hellichten Tag"" is a macabre story that, far from adornment and seem relevant, is limited to narrate with great pragmatism and commendable agility the search for a bloodthirsty killer of children. Good work of all the players of that there are only a Spanish actress, Rosa Maria Salgado "Frau Heller", who worked in films like "El Inquilino", "Balarrasa", "Don Juan","Séptima Página"... The master Ladislao Vajda made us enjoy and deeply in subsequent and in some way mythical productions "Mi Tío Jacinto", "An angel step by Brooklyn", and "Marcelino Pan y Vino".
Presents a good photography in black and white of Heinrich Gärtner, and a good and curious soundtrack by Bruno Canfora that in some fragments is similar to the film "Ryan'S daughter".
